CHS Hantis Club Constitution
Article I: Purpose
The CHS Hantis Club was created to provide the students of Central High the opportunity to discover and play Hantis, a unique, fast-paced game. Most have yet to hear of this innovative game, and the Hantis Club looks to change this by educating the students of Central about Hantis and giving them the chance to play it. The club hopes to inspire social interaction between members, as Hantis is a game that requires players to work as teams to succeed. Lastly, the club will promote health among members, through the movement involved in the game.
Article II: Advisement
The Central High School Hantis club is under the advisement of Ashley Murawski. She holds authority over all club activities. The Advisor can overrule any decisions made by the officers if it is deemed necessary.
Article III: Membership
Any student of Central High School can join the CHS Hantis club, so long as they pay all, if any, of the required dues.
Article IV: Meetings
Meetings will be weekly. These meetings will take place on days that the club members deem most convenient at the time. Each meeting will run from 3 to 4pm after school, unless there happens to be a special reason to extend the meeting. In the event of a special occasion, additional meetings can be called. If a scheduled meeting happens to fall on the date of snow day, professional development day, etc the meeting shall be rescheduled accordingly.
Article V: Offices
In the first year of club operation, responsibilities of the club will fall upon the co-founders until membership increases and club operations move smoothly. Once the club has been firmly established, elections will be held for the offices of President and Vice-President. The President will conduct the meetings and take care of all club related activities, including the finances, along with the assistance of the Vice-President. Upon the absence of the President, the Vice-President will assume all duties. A General-Officer will be assigned in the event that the officers should need further assistance due to a large increase of membership and responsibility that the President and Vice-president can not maintain without further assistance.
Article VI: Elections
To run for office, members, who are in the 11th or 12th grades and have been actively participating in the club for at least one year, must first submit a request to the current officers and Advisor. They will then select up to four candidates who have shown high attendance, deep dedication, and goes above and beyond the normal duties of the standard club member. There will then be an anonymous election in which all members shall participate. This election will decide the officers for the upcoming year. If current officers are returning to Central, they are allowed to run again. The candidate with the most votes will be assigned the role of President, and the runner-up shall be awarded the office of Vice-president. In the event that a General-Officer is needed, the next runner-up will be awarded that position. In case of a tie, the election will be held again with only the tying party.
Article VII: Amendments
During club meetings, if any member feels the need to amend the Constitution, they can propose their idea to the club. After proposing their idea, a vote consisting of all members shall be taken. For the Constitution to be amended, at least a two-thirds majority vote is needed, along with the support of the Advisor and at least one officer. Any revisions to the Constitution that do not affect club activities can be added without a vote. Members will be told of these revisions and will be provided with updated copies.
